Portal home visits
Let authenticated patients request home visits with tests, preferred date, time window, branch, address, location, notes, and status tracking.
What patients can request
The portal home visits page lets an authenticated patient submit a home visit request for the current lab company. The page shows catalog data so the patient can choose requested tests, and it lists the patient's existing requests with status, requested tests, preferred date, time window, address, notes, review notes, and creation time.
These are requests, not confirmed orders. Staff still need to review, schedule, and convert requests according to the lab's operations workflow.
Required and optional fields
Address is required because a home visit cannot be evaluated without a location. Preferred date is optional but must be today or later when provided. Preferred time window is optional and can describe a period such as morning, 10:00-12:00, or after work. Requested tests are optional and must belong to the same lab company when provided.
Branch is optional. If selected, the branch must belong to the same lab company. Latitude and longitude are optional and must be valid geographic coordinates. Notes can hold patient instructions such as building details, fasting status, or accessibility information.
Request creation
When a request is submitted, Kashef validates selected tests and branch ownership. It then creates a PortalVisitRequest with lab company, patient, branch, requested tests, preferred date, preferred time window, address, latitude, longitude, notes, and status pending.
Because requests are patient-scoped, one patient cannot create a request for another patient through the portal.
Request list and statuses
The portal list displays the patient's existing requests newest first. Each request includes status and review notes. Staff-side operations can use these requests for dispatch review, scheduling, or conversion to an order. When converted, the request can store the converted order ID.
If a patient asks why a visit has not happened, check the request status and review notes first. It may still be pending, rejected, scheduled, or converted depending on staff-side workflow.
Staff follow-up
Reception or dispatch staff should confirm address, preferred date, time window, requested tests, and any preparation requirements. If the requested tests require fasting, special tubes, refrigerated transport, or a central lab route, coordinate before confirming the visit.
Do not treat portal requests as prepaid or clinically reviewed orders unless the staff-side workflow has created an order and completed the required checks.
