Finance transfers
Move money between accounts or branches with a clear source, destination, and audit trail.
When to use a transfer
Use Transfer from Finance > Transactions when money moves between two accounts—for example, from a cashier drawer to a safe or from one bank account to another. A transfer is not a patient payment, expense, refund, or supplier payment.
Create the transfer
Choose the source account, destination account, amount, date, description, and a useful note. In the company workspace, choose the source and destination branches when needed. In a branch workspace, the source branch defaults to the current branch. The destination branch may be the same branch or another branch. Confirm that both accounts use compatible currencies and that each account is available to its selected branch.
For an inter-branch movement, document the handover or bank reference. The transfer should be visible to both sides: the source account decreases and the destination account increases after the transfer is posted or approved according to your permissions.
Review and correct
Open the transfer to review its source, destination, status, amount, and audit trail. If it was entered incorrectly, use the available Finance correction workflow. Do not create a second transfer just to hide the first one.
Reconcile a bank transfer against the relevant statement. Use Cashier & Safes to count physical cash moved between a drawer and a safe.
