Inventory reports
Build scope-aware stock, purchasing, receiving, movement, valuation, and audit reports.
Report types
Open Reports > Inventory Reports. The inventory builder is now grouped with the system's other reporting tools.
The report builder supports Stock by Warehouse, Low Stock and Reorder, Expiry Risk, Transfer Aging, Supply Request Status, Inventory Valuation, Consumption Cost, Supplier Spend, Lot Traceability, Adjustment Audit, and Receiving Audit.
Current-stock reports show the current recorded balance. Date ranges apply to document and movement reports such as transfers, requests, consumption, adjustments, and receiving.
Company and branch report scope
Inventory reports are available from the company workspace only. They can include all company warehouses and can be narrowed by branch or warehouse. Use the Branch filter for one location, then use Warehouse when a more precise physical scope is required. Submitted filter values cannot widen the current company or the user's permitted branches.
Filters
Choose the report type and date range, then optionally narrow by branch, warehouse, supplier, item, or workflow status. Branch and warehouse filters should describe the same physical scope. Status is useful for transfer and request reports; leave it blank for all applicable states.
All report roots are restricted to the current laboratory company. Filter identifiers submitted from another company are not used to expose cross-company rows.
Reading results
Update Report applies the current filters and rebuilds the summary and rows. Download PDF exports those applied filters and rows. Summary values vary by report and can include row count, on-hand quantity, available quantity, suggested order quantity, or value. Item, warehouse, supplier, status, transaction type, and dates use the current interface language.
No matching rows means the selected scope has no qualifying records; it is not an error. Widen the date range or remove optional filters before assuming data is missing.
Choosing the right report
Use Low Stock and Reorder to plan purchasing from current minimum levels and available quantities. Expiry Risk helps prioritize lots that should be consumed, transferred, or reviewed before they expire. Inventory Valuation answers an accounting question about the recorded value of stock at the current point in time, while Consumption Cost explains the value used during a selected period.
Supplier Spend and Receiving Audit review purchasing and receipt activity rather than the current shelf balance. Lot Traceability follows a specific item lot through recorded movements. Adjustment Audit should be reviewed whenever a physical count, correction, or unexplained variance changes stock outside the normal receipt, transfer, or consumption workflows.
Consumption Cost is also the usage ledger for governed test and QC rules. Its rows identify the usage context, test code, lot, expected and observed quantities, absolute and percentage variance, and tolerance status. Investigate any outside-tolerance row before changing stock or the rule.
Investigating discrepancies
First confirm the selected branch, warehouse, item, date range, and workflow status. A current balance report can legitimately differ from a date-ranged movement report when transactions occurred before the selected start date. Also check whether stock is reserved, in transit, expired, or recorded in another warehouse before treating the difference as an error.
For a disputed quantity, compare the stock-level row with Receiving Audit, Transfer Aging, Consumption Cost, and Adjustment Audit for the same item and location. Do not correct stock only to make a report total match. Find the source receipt, transfer, consumption, or approved adjustment and correct that operational record according to your permissions and laboratory policy.
Checklist
- Select the report that answers the operational question.
- Confirm whether the report is a current balance or a date-ranged movement report.
- Use branch and warehouse filters consistently.
- Use supplier and item filters only when narrowing is intended.
- Review the summary and row details before acting on totals.
- Export or record the applied filters when sharing a report for approval or investigation.
