Lab settings

Update the lab profile, public slug, public logo, support email, default currency, and visible subscription plan.

What lab settings control

Lab Settings manages the company-level profile used by the lab panel and connected public surfaces. It is intentionally focused: logo, lab name, support email, public slug, default currency, and visible subscription plan. These fields affect identity, communication, invoices, reports, and the public website.

The page requires an active branch context because the lab company is resolved from the selected branch. If no branch is selected, the page warns that settings are unavailable and redirects back to the panel.

The logo upload is stored on the public disk under lab-logos. It accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 2 MB and 2048 × 2048 pixels. SVG and other file types are rejected. The editor supports circular cropping because the same image may be used as an avatar-style logo in several places. Choose a clear image with good contrast. Avoid uploading a full report header as the lab logo; report header and footer images are managed separately in report settings.

If the public website also has a website-specific logo, that website logo can override the company logo on public pages. Keep the two aligned unless there is a deliberate branding reason to use different assets.

When a saved logo is replaced or removed, Kashef deletes the previous file from the managed lab-logos directory so unused branding files do not accumulate.

Lab name and email

Lab name is required and appears in admin surfaces, reports, website starter content, and communication contexts. Use the official commercial name that patients and partners recognize. It is trimmed when saved. Avoid adding branch names here unless the branch name is part of the legal company brand.

Support email is required, validated as an email address, trimmed, and stored in lowercase. It should be monitored by staff who can respond to patient, partner, billing, and operational questions. This email may appear in website contact settings or be used as a fallback for communication.

Public lab slug

Lab slug controls the public website path under /labs/{slug}. It must be unique, 3 to 120 characters long, and use only lowercase letters, numbers, and single hyphens. Keep it short, recognizable, and stable once patients, partners, QR codes, or printed material use the link.

Change the slug from Lab Settings, not Website CMS. Website CMS controls publication state, logo, contact details, SEO, colors, and homepage sections, while Lab Settings owns the public address shared across the lab company.

Default currency

Default currency controls how the lab expects financial values to be represented. Options include EGP, USD, EUR, GBP, SAR, and AED. For most Egyptian labs, EGP should remain the default. Change it only when the lab's finance configuration, price lists, invoices, and reporting expectations are aligned.

Currency changes should be treated as an operational decision, not a visual preference. Review finance accounts, pricing lists, contracts, invoices, and printed documents before relying on a changed currency in production work.

Subscription plan

The subscription plan is visible but disabled. It shows the current active subscription plan when one exists, otherwise it falls back to the company plan snapshot. Levels include Free, Basic, Pro, and Max. Staff cannot change the plan from this form. Change or renew it from Subscription Management. Feature access is controlled by the subscription system and feature gates.

If a page is unavailable even though the user has permissions, check whether the subscription plan includes the feature. Permissions and subscription eligibility both matter.

Patient loyalty program

The loyalty section controls one shared balance for each Primary Patient and linked family. Enable the program, choose whether earning is based on tests, settled visits, or amount paid, then set the relevant rate and rounding rule.

For rewards, define the points and money in one complete reward block, the minimum points required, and the maximum percentage of an order that points may cover. Add dynamic tiers in increasing minimum-balance order and keep one starting tier at zero. Review these values with finance and reception before enabling them because they affect order discounts, cashier due amounts, invoices, receipts, profiles, and the patient portal.

Pausing the program preserves existing balances and history but stops new earning. Changing a conversion rate does not rewrite completed ledger entries.

Saving changes

After editing, save the form. Kashef re-resolves the company from the authorized branch tenant, checks the management permission again, and updates company identity, public settings, currency, and loyalty rules together. The subscription plan is not dehydrated and is not saved from this form.

Review lab settings after onboarding, rebranding, currency policy changes, or support email changes. These fields are simple, but they affect many visible parts of the system.
